ABOUT

Hi, I’m Kukie — a food storyteller, lifelong recipe scribbler, and someone constantly looking for little ways to feel grounded through a plate of something delicious.

I come from a South Indian family where meals weren’t just about sustenance — they were stories. Passed down through generations, told in Sunday roasts and simmering stews, I grew up surrounded by the flavours from BangaloreMangaloreKeralaMaharashtra, Goa, Singapore and England. I now flutter through the multicultural soul of Toronto, which I call home.

This blog is a quiet celebration of my journey — of joy, love and loss, and the food that comforts, connects, and sometimes just gets you through the day.

Here, you will find:

  • Recipes that are quick, flavourful, and rooted in memory
  • Anecdotes about kitchens past and present
  • Stories of thriving, surviving, and everything in between

Some days it’s slow-roasted tomatoes that came in fresh from the farms of Ontario, other days it’s a cup of chai that takes me straight back to a Mumbai monsoon. Whether you’re here for a 10-minute meal or just need a reminder that you’re not alone — welcome! This space is yours too.

Let’s cook, share, and stumble through life — one story, one recipe at a time.
