I’ve brought dimsum back into my life over the weekend and making it always leaves me feeling happy and accomplished.
Dimsum wrapper quality- good
Dimsum filling- delicious
Dimsum folding- could be better 🙈
But at the end of the day, even ugly food is ok as long as it’s delicious right? David Chang seems to think so and that’s good enough for me!
Recipe 1: Peppered Mushroom dimsum
• Finely chop mushrooms and spring onion in a ratio of 2:1.
• Add white pepper and soya sauce.
• Add half a teaspoon of seasame oil.
And that’s it!
• Add the filling to the dimsum wrapper, fold in any shape you please and steam.
Recipe 2: Original pork dimsum
• In a mixing bowl, add finely chopped spring onions, carrots and cabbage to quarter kilo or lean ground pork mince.
• Add ginger and garlic paste, soya sauce and pepper.
• Add half a teaspoon of sesame oil and fish/oyster sauce.
And that’s it!
• Add to the dimsum wrapper, fold and steam.
Recipe 3: Sundried tomato Pork dimsum
This one made me very happy as the sundried tomato went so well with the meat.
• In a mixing bowl, add 6 finely chopped sundried tomatoes and a handful of finely chopped spring onions to quarter kilo of lean ground pork mince.
• Add soya sauce and black pepper to taste.
• Add ginger garlic paste.
And that’s it!
• Add the filling in the wrapper, fold and steam.
*note that I will be putting up recipes for the dimsum wrappers and dipping sauce shortly!
